Petition for Marvel US to release the Japanese Spiderman onto DVD

xAs we all know, Marvel.com has the entire Japanese Spiderman that was released by Toei in 1978. We all know that this series would sell extremely well in America, due to the fact that not only is the Tokusatsu community growing, but the Spiderman fan base is pretty much the largest in the world.

Outside of Japan, the series is nearly impossible to find raws, never mind subtitles. However, if you browse the marvel.com website, you can see all 41 episodes in full subtitled glory!

And this got me to thinking, if shows relatively unknown outside Hawaii and the west coast in America can be released onto DVD, why can’t Marvel and Toei come to an agreement to release the Japanese series onto DVD? We all know how much this series is wanted and needed, and if we all unite to show our interest, maybe Marvel will take note and perhaps they will release a limited edition box set at the least.

If you wish to join the cause, you can check out my petition I made online (http://www.petitiononline.com/toeispid/petition.html) and sign it right before you send it off to all your friends. To tide everyone over however, I am working on a special surprise for all the toku fans who read this blog!
